چکیده
The goal of this study is to determine the efficacy plants in treatment municipal wastewater (MWW) utilizing aquatic plant common reed, also known as Phragmites australis. Two glass basins with dimensions (60 cm x 26 cm) and a height have been developed for purpose (30 cm). In investigation, two were employed: one served reference, while other was used conduct tests using synthetic actual city wastewater. vertical subsurface flow (VSSF) system investigation because it provides greater ventilation. Furthermore, retention duration many hours due water molecules penetrating basin's layers packing materials, which rather high hydraulic conductivity. Three aggregates, sand, agricultural sand cover basins' bases: first layer 3 second final 4 sand. Before beginning experiment, acclimated weeks. To imitate wastewater, lab-created employed. Samples collected performed after four weeks running trials certain significant pollution indicators their elimination percentage. TDS= 20.6 %, TSS= 65 BOD5=75 percent, COD=64.1 TH= 47.2 % findings. capacity australis function biofilter process demonstrated by its use phytoremediation

Dynamics of Bacterial Community Abundance and Structure in Horizontal Subsurface Flow Wetland Mesocosms Treating Municipal Wastewater
Dynamics of bacterial community abundance and structure of a newly established horizontal subsurface flow (HSSF) pilot-scale wetland were studied using high-throughput sequencing and quantitative polymerase chain reaction (PCR) methods. Bacterial community abundance increased rapidly within one month and stabilised thereafter in three replicate HSSF constructed wetland (CW) mesocosms. The most ...
متن کاملWastewater Treatment Using Horizontal Subsurface Flow Constructed Wetland
The last few decades witnessed sharp focus on environment pollution and its impact on life in nature. Wetlands can be used for biological treatment of wastewater. Problem statement: Scarcity of water is considered as a global problem and Iran is one the countries which is facing water shortage problem. Pollution of water bodies restrict the availability of water for various uses. Treatment of w...
متن کاملProducing Renewable Energy from Municipal Wastewater Treatment Using a Bio–electrochemical System
Concurrent renewable energy production and wastewater treatment are two main reasons for using microbial fuel cells (MFCs). In this study, real wastewater was used for treating and power generation by air cathode microbial desalination cells (ACMFC). The total duration of voltage generation by ACMFC was about 151.9 ±23.2 h. The maximum voltage produced from municipal wastewater treatment was 27...
متن کاملDesign of horizontal and vertical subsurface flow constructed wetlands treating industrial wastewater
Constructed wetlands have become a good alternative to urban and industrial wastewater treatments. Because of the many interactions between the different parts that form the wetland, the design of these systems used to be very complex so a good design tool is required. Hybrid constructed wetlands mix the aerobic and anaerobic properties of vertical and horizontal subsurface flow constructed wet...
